I LOVE...

Bits and pieces that inspire me, make me smile, or get me thinking.

Judaism is a really high quality religion, but quality is not a growth strategy. Mormons want to you be Mormon. Make evangelism your core strategy.

Nice. A smart dude from Sicily talking about how perceptions of time shape the world. And one extremely hard working hand. Thanks Al @VanillaGrrrilla

A film about the tradition of hand painted ads, and a very cool perspective on the city from up high. One of my favorite things about NYC… I hope this never dies.

This get’s cool at around the 1:30 mark. And it sounded great on Tuesday night at the Opera House accompanied by a string quartet. Thanks Bamossey.

What’s with the spoiler? I don’t care if it makes it go faster.

I like Andy Warhol’s version from 1979. He’s the only one to have painted the car himself.

One good thing about working in The Rocks… 30 seconds to the MCA. It’s jam packed full with Biennale work. I liked Shane Cotton’s corner of 3 or 4 paintings, sort of like this one but not exactly this one. Creepy but cool color, feels like pre dawn. Would buy one if had spare thousands.

Fun or Dumb? … not sure, maybe both. Bring on season 3.

Classic. I miss Zappos…. and Pandora and Hulu.

Reading a local magazine is a nice way to feel at home in a new place. I just picked up one called Frankie (www.frankie.com.au) which is quite cool and printed on lovely thick matte paper. They have a section where Nannas are asked to give advice to their 20 year old selves. Most took the philosophical route but I liked Joyce’s practical approach. Two years ago I would have torn out the page, let it float around in my handbag for a few days until it became unreadable, and then chucked it out. View high resolution

The Man in Black

Went to http://www.themaninblack.com.au/ on Friday night. Sort of a live documentary and a very cool mix of Americana and Australia. Quite brave to take on such a legend, but they pulled it off with huge voices, great music and a fresh spin on his story. Highly recommended.

Self expression is the new entertainment, We never used to question why people sit on the couch for seven hours a day watching bad TV. Nobody ever asked, ‘Why are they doing that for free?’ We need to celebrate [this desire to contribute for free] rather than question it.

If you’re not prepared to be wrong you’ll never come up with anything original.

I really don’t like Oasis. But this idea has endeared me to them just a little bit. A totally unexpected and inspired way to release an album.
